PROMote the Stereotype!

It is a common stereotype that all girls really want to do is shop for dresses and shoes and pretty sparkly things. In the past this stereotype was also regarded as something "bad" right? Well, I say, badness begone! Prom is just one of those times when girls GET to promote that stereotype without being reprimanded for being dumb and vain. It really is a thrill (though also a pain..) and today I, fei, started this glamorous, traditional, and very expensive journey.

This was the beautiful dress from BCBG that my mom vetoed INSTANTLY b/c she doesn't think that I should be wearing a dress that consists of the colors beige with cream. She wanted me in something VIBRANT and since she was footing the bill, I listened.

Ok, admittedly, Vera Wang runway dresses don't quite work for prom because of many different reasons, but I love this dress! I adore the sheer, ethereal quality of this fabric and the lovely sequins on the collar.

GASP! I like ripped, complicated, and layered for everyday but for formals, I am simple as can be. I love the simple, beautiful detail of this Nicole Miller dress and of course, the royal blue doesn't hurt either.

And if I were a fairy princess living in a world full of unicorns and white knights, I could kindly ask the insanely talented jason wu to make me this dress. To me, this embodies everything that I would ever want in a piece of clothing. The color, the fabric, the texture, and the essence of the dress just makes the model look even more beautiful than she already is.

UPDATE: I have gotten my dress, it is not quite as romantic and fantastical as some of these dresses, but I like it and now I just need to get shoes!!!
